Indian Head Massage, also known as Champissage, originates from an alternative Indian medicine system called Ayurveda. It is believed that the mind and body are connected and can influence one another. Through this theory Indian Head Massage can help reduce headaches and improve physical wellbeing but can also improve mental and emotional wellness too.
A traditional Indian Head Massage usually begins with the upper back, shoulders and arms, working deeply into this area which often holds tension. This is followed by massaging and stretching the neck to relieve stress and tension.
I use a traditional Ayurvedic oil for the Head Massage which is a blend of 9 therapeutic ayurvedic herbs. Facial acupressure points are also included in this therapy.
Promotes hair growth by increasing oxygen in the hair follicles which stimulate growth and condition.
Prevents headaches and migraines by releasing built up tension in the head and neck area, relieving muscle stiffness.
Improved sleep by reducing stress.
Stimulates lymphatic drainage by circulating blood to the neck area.
