Opposite to massage, cupping expels air into the cup creating a negative pressure, separating the tissue layers. When the tissues separate. water is absorbed into dehydrated tissues and toxins are eliminated. Increased blood flow to these areas helps rejuvenate tissues.
FICT is beneficial for various conditions including inflammatory responses, joint and tissue movement restrictions, scar tissue and restricted fascia limitations as well as chronic conditions in which pain arises such as back pain, neck pain, knee pain, shoulder pain (eg rotator cuff injuries).
A full assessment of movement is carried our prior to treatment.
I offer dry cupping therapy, using a variety of cupping techniques.
Light moving cupping (cupping with soft tissue release).
The objective of this treatment is to apply light cupping to a much larger area of the body by moving/sliding the cup. This is done to release soft tissue adhesions within an area of the muscle or may also release trigger points if these are present.
Fixed cups are applied following the above treatments on problematic areas such as rotator cuff injuries, back, neck, hamstring, knee, calf injuries etc.
Therapeutic oils are used in treatments. Cupping works very well with Acupuncture in particular myofascial trigger point release.
Cupping is designed to make you feel good so is definately not just for sports related injuries!
